ebay (2006)

series of five scraperboard drawings

Launch interactive version

The drawings are copies of ebay pages, specifically 'My ebay'. As a user of ebay you are allocated an area "My ebay", this can be used for collecting/watching

objects that you are interested in purchasing.

The pages are snapshots of "My ebay" after specific objects have been collected. The chosen objects relate to the existing associations made in the Archive.

For example the object at the top is connected through found internet information to the object below it and so and. The original name of archive pages were

used in ebays search engine to generate results and to collect these objects. In the online interactive version of the drawings the connecting information is made

visible by clicking on an object. By hovering with the cursor you are also able to view the 'original' object as it was viewed in ebay.

Each drawing is created using etched gold foil scrapper board , then digitally scanned to create the virtual interactive versions. The distinctive precise hand

made quality that exists in the material versions of each drawing is digitally flattened through scanning.
